Seaside at Christmas time

I firstly want to apologise because I didn't post anything on the blog in months. I promised you a detailed review of my trip to Edinburgh that never arrived. I'll try to remediate telling you about my last recent one day- trip.

Few days a friend of mine and I took the car and we went to Rimini and Riccione to check out how the atmosphere is during Christmas time in this places that are always crowded in summer.
Guess what? There's not a lot of people in this period but there's a very Christamsy atmosphere... and the weather is not so warm as you think even if we are at the seaside!
We firstly went to Rimini. It was my first time in the city center. Lots of Christmas stalls and shops... if you want to buy a cap as a present for some friends you are in the right place! And Christmas trees. And lots of crazy people that were shouting to their dogs in the streets (awkard!... and disrespectful to the animals too).
We then had a "fish lunch".. not the typical lunches at the seaside, but it was good and cheap and the service was good. I won't post the name and address because it would look like advertisement and I don't want any problems.

We then moved to Riccione. If you want to go there during Christmas time, there are some free parking areas not far from the seaside and Viale Ceccarini. We parked in Viale Dante; check out on the net to find out the other places.
I loved Riccione and its atmosphere: it's full of lights and... good news girls! There are already SALES in most of the shops!!!!!
Unfortunately the weather was cloudy, but if you choose a sunny day to go there the seaside would be for sure amazing to admire!

Let me know your impressions if you are visiting these places in the next days!

Where I'm staying

Hey people!
I just discovered where I'm staying for this two weeks in Edimburgh: Portobello! So, wow, I will be near the seaside!!! I'm really excited about it, even if I would have preferred staying near the city center. Btw I think it will be a great opportunity to visit other places apart from Edimburgh.

These are some pics I just found on the Web. It looks beautiful, hope I will be able to see the same scenary when I'll be there!
Is there anybody who has already visited Portobello? Any curiosities, suggestions? Places to go?
         Love,

Hi everybody!
Last Saturday I went skiing with some friends, it was amazing! There wasn't a lot of snow because of the hot weather, but when you're with friends you know... :)
Now, just some quick advices if you' re planning go skiing in this weekend:
 -  the best period of the day is from early morning till twelve (after the snow isn't so good)
 -  if you want hot dishes for lunch, don't go after 1.30- 2 p.m.
 -  after a whole day spent on skies, take a bombardino! (it's not too alcoholic)
 - as the structures close quite early, you could also hang around the zone, the landscapes are always beautiful!
So, what are you waiting for? Go check the narrower skiing structures near your home town :) ....and let me know about your eperiences :)

Hi everybody!
As you already know, last Friday I've been to Rome. It has been one of the best visits there. As I arrived I had the tipical "colazione romana"... here's a little tip for coffe addicted people: ask for a cappuccino, or if you really want coffee ask for a long one!... as I am sugar addicted I kind of ate sugar dipped into coffee (disgusting!).
I was with a friend of mine and she showed me the "unknown" part of Rome, the one where tourists don't usually go: piazza Bologna and so on (I don't remember the names of the places, I'm sorry ahah).
This friend took me into "Luiss University" where theorically only registered students can enter, but with little luck I was inside too! Amazing structure, amazing organization of spaces, I loved it!
And then... my world! We entered into "Bakery House Roma"  and I felt like I was in wonderland: cakes, muffins, brownies, all sort of sweets *.* We ended up having a slice of chocolate cake and a slice of coconut cake: big, tasty, full of calories, heaven on earth!
We took the metro in the worst time of the day: 1.30 p.m.! But it was funny, at that time you can see people from Rome, not tourists and you see every sort of people standing around you. If you go to Rome you should take the metro at least once!
And then we arrived to world famous part of Rome: Piazza di Spagna,... (of course we took the touristic photo ahah).
If you want to go shopping too I suggest this streets in the center of Rome: the famous Via dei Condotti (for more expensive and classy shops) and Via del Corso, but also Via Cola di Rienzo, on the way to go to San Pietro. If you're addicted to Harry Potter and the Lord of Rings you have to go to "Storia & Magia" shop...it's not like going to the amusement park in London, but it's very suggestive (in my opinion).
After a whole day spending walking and discovering a new part of Rome it arrived the time to go back home, with the promise I'll come back asap.
If you have already visit, or you will visit in the future, some of the places I mentioned, let me know your impressions :)
                   Love,
                                       Gloria
